Enhancement to Preparatory Course for Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level Examination
After an annual review of the preparatory courses, the management is of the opinion that the structure of the course has to be revamped to enhance the quality and standards the existing course. It is decided the following changes will be introduced to improve the course
i) With effect from 1 Nov 2010, all students of the Preparatory Course for Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ level Examination are required to undertake 40 hours of study on a weekly basis
ii) Besides the usual 6-hour daily regimen, they are required to attend additional evening classes that will be conducted from 5pm-7pm, Mondays to Fridays. These sessions will be taught by some of our full-time teachers and part-time teaching assistants.
iii) With effect from 2 Jan 2011, students are required to undertake 44 hours of study on a weekly basis. Compulsory tutorial sessions for English Writing, Additional Mathematics and Principles of Accounting will be added on Friday evening, Saturday morning and afternoon, each of a 2-hour duration.
iv) The aim of the augmented structure is to ensure our students enjoy the right amount of attention and regimentation from our teachers that will help them pass, and excel in their O Levels examinations.
v) Finally, as part of our quality enhancement exercise for our academic courses, the existing curriculum will be reviewed and revamped. The new compilation will focus intensively on past-year examination questions with increased emphasis on practice and application.
vi) The management looks forward to your continued support in the implementation of the above mentioned changes.
